A report is not a test of the water. See how statuses are worked out.
1. The reported outfall
Outfall reported by an operator the record does not name. Location: 44.28240, -69.00804, given in the source record.
2. Waters named in the notice
The notice names: “Lincolnville Beach”. We place it on West Penobscot Bay, ME. Inferred (for example from the discharger's receiving water); the source does not name the water.
3. Modeled downstream reach
Not modeled: the reach model runs on rivers above the head of tide only.
Source: water outlines from OpenBoatLaunch and OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL); outfalls from EPA ECHO and the state outfall layers; modeled reaches computed by DirtyWaterWatch from USGS NLDI, NHDPlus and the nearest USGS gauge (Jobson 1996); basemap OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles.
When: three different times
The time of the event, the time the source reported, published or updated it, and the time we fetched it are kept apart. Times are shown in New England time; the record keeps the original offsets.

Advice
“Advisories are issued as a recommendation to the public to avoid water contact activities in areas where bacteria results have exceeded the BAV and the risk for water-related illness is greater. It is recommended that the public avoid all water contact activities at those locations when an advisory is issued. Program comment: "Recent enterococci bacteria results above Maine’s safety threshold (104 MPN/100ml). Another sample has been collected at this beach and results will be provided on the MHB website when available."”
- Advice window
- not stated in the record; the state's window on the methods page applies
- Basis
- Maine Healthy Beaches: advisory stays until a follow-up sample is below the Beach Action Value (enterococci 104 MPN/100 mL)
