3. Estimated downstream stretch

We estimate routes only on rivers before they become tidal. We do not estimate routes through tidal water or lakes.

Map sources: water outlines and launches from OpenBoatLaunch and OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database License); wastewater outlets from EPA and state records; downstream estimates by DirtyWaterWatch using U.S. Geological Survey maps and flow data. Base map: OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles.

"INCIDENT_REPORT": "Incident Description: Heavy rainfall from Hurricane Isaias in the days leading up to the landfall coupled with the feeder bands that were coming onshore caused extensive flooding in town that infiltrated into the collection system causing unusually large volumes of extra flow to be sent to the WWTP. The overflow drainage system in the headworks was operating as designed, however the amount of infiltrated storm water that was being sent to the plant from the collection system was more than the aging headworks system could handle. The result was an overflow of the headworks structure which allowed an undetermined amount of influent flow to escape the headworks. The staff onsite put lime on the ground around the headworks for any potential pathogen reduction. There are no signs of grease or solids in the location. There doesn't appear to be any State Waters affected. There was no public affected as a result of this spill. It was primarily storm water that had entered into the collection system.
