Approximately 6,300 gallons of untreated wastewater were released onto the nearby grounds. City staff responded immediately and shut down Lift Station #40 to relieve pressure within the force main and facilitate repairs. Once system pressure was relieved, the damaged connection was repaired and normal wastewater conveyance operations were restored. A vacuum truck was used to recover standing wastewater from the affected ground surfaces. Following completion of cleanup activities, the impacted areas were treated with lime for disinfection.
