1. Reported wastewater outlet

Operator named in the record: Glades WWTP Facility FLA 326321. Outlet: “2582 SW Westfield St 2-inch low pressure main break”. Location: 27.26610, -80.39652; location source: given in the source record, accurate to about 15 metres.

Outfall: a pipe or outlet where wastewater enters a water body.

2. Waters named in the notice

3. Estimated downstream stretch

We estimate routes only on rivers before they become tidal. We do not estimate routes through tidal water or lakes.

Map sources: water outlines and launches from OpenBoatLaunch and OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database License); wastewater outlets from EPA and state records; downstream estimates by DirtyWaterWatch using U.S. Geological Survey maps and flow data. Base map: OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles.

  "INCIDENT_NUMBER": 20269048,
  "INCIDENT_NAME": "2582 SW Westfield St 2-inch low pressure main break",
  "INCIDENT_REPORT": "Description of incident: On September 12, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Sewer PM staff responded to a sanitary sewer overflow at 2582 SW Westfield St. The overflow originated from a 2-inch low-pressure PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sewer main. Upon arrival, staff observed untreated wastewater escaping from the ground at an estimated rate of approximately 1.5 gallons per minute. The Sewer PM repair crew was excavating the area to replace a check valve when they identified a hairline fracture in the 2-inch low-pressure sewer main. The damage appeared to be associated with the age and condition of the pipe and/or the heavy rainfall conditions. A vacuum pumper truck was dispatched to recover the wastewater from the excavation. The overflow was stopped at approximately 2:00 p.m. Based on the estimated flow rate and duration, approximately 90 gallons of wastewater were released. Approximately 60 gallons were recovered from the excavation site by the vacuum pumper truck. The remaining estimated 30 gallons percolated into soil. Repairs to the damaged 2-inch low-pressure main were completed on September 12, 2026, at 2:00 pm. The affected area was cleaned, and 2 pounds of lime was spread in the affected area. No surface water was affected, and sampling was not required. All required regulatory notifications and documentation are being completed in accordance with established protocol.",
